All these years...

I tried gelato for the first time today. It's amazing. I had the pistachio flavor. Dead. So creamy and delicious. The Italians really know their food.

I do not like green eggs and ham!

So you know how I was really sick? While sick I stayed far away from the nieces and nephews and missed them terribly. But bless technology and FaceTime! The whole crew called one night and entertained me quite awhile. Then EJ offered to read me a book before bed. I accepted. Of course.

I managed to  take a couple screen caps.

It was so fun. She is such a great reader. Her intonation is perfection. So unique and adorable.

She stopped after every page and let me see the pictures, which was super thoughtful.

She read Green Eggs and Ham and Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? It really took me back. I only wish that i'd been smart enough to record it!

I have a request. If you have a little one in your life, read a book with them today. Books = joy.

Thank you so much, EJ!! I loved listening to you read.

Dumb swine.

So...last week I had the flu. And not the pansy, puke for a fews days, flu. I had H1N1. I feel so special! Blerg. I've never been that sick in my life. F'reals. Normally I downplay it when I get sick...not this time! I'm complaining all I want about this one ;-) +Karla Kepsel had it too. We went to lunch together and were both near death the next day. Some little punk infected us.

Anywho. I was joking that I had the plague and it made me think of this sketch and I laughed. And if they had come around my house, I would've gotten on that cart myself. That's how awesome I felt :-)

Parcels from far away...

I love receiving parcels from other countries. The further away, the better! (Further? Farther?)

Today was a good day. I received two!

The first was from a dear friend in Croatia (Thank you Ari!). She sent me yummy Croatian treats and lotion.
And look at the great stamps!
I love stamps. I think I need to send her a package full of Utah things. Hmmm. Can I ship her a Mormon? ;-)

The second parcel is from India.
I ordered silk scraps for the Nuno Felting that I'm obsessed with right now. They are beautiful. So rich.
And then there is the parcel itself. It's fabric. It's sewn shut. It's covered in fabulous stamps. Heaven!
I love thinking about these packages and how far they've traveled. They have been places and seen things, i've never seen. Which hands have touched them? Who belongs to those hands? All the delicious possibilites!
