Lots of books this past few weeks!

Jamaica Inn by Daphne DuMaurier.
I know it looks a bit like a typical (porn) romance but it's totally not. I've read Rebecca and My Cousin Rachel by DuMaurier and loved both. Her writing is fantastic and very clean.

The Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson
I just finished his novel Elantris and really enjoyed it. It's great scifi/fantasy with tons of action and intrigue but also very clean. No sex, no swearing. I'm excited to start this trilogy.

I also got Magic Study and Fire Study by Maria V. Snyder. They are books two and three in a trilogy. Book one is called Poison Study.

I've already finished all three and really enjoyed this series. It's a fun and intriguing mystery/adventure. I really like the heroine and adored the hero opposite her. They were all pretty clean. There was some sex. As in you knew that they were going to have sex but it's not descriptive at all. In the first book there is also a part where she has a memory of rape but it wasn't descriptive. I would still recommend the series. I really liked it!

I also ordered The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale.
I liked her book Book of a Thousand Days and this one was recommended on Good Reads so I thought I would give it a shot. I'll let you know how it goes.

Bacon Brainteaser

Anyone know what happened here?

I cooked some bacon and poured the drippings into a glass to use for eggs some other time. I put the glass in the fridge. I went back to the fridge a while later and found this:

Weird right? And it broke cleanly. Straight around. And why did the top fall off? Why didn't it crack and then just sit there? My mom saves bacon drippings all the time and this never happens...

It's a mystery.

But I'm guessing someone smarter than I will solve it rather quickly.

I was informed last night by my father that I needed to go The Home Depot tomorrow and buy spider traps as there were a lot of them in the house. And by in the house he meant one was crawling on his back while he was brushing his teeth!!!!

It's spring. They are hatching. Everywhere.

After puking and crying hysterically for a while...I decided to take his advice and pick up some traps. How many is too many? Is there a limit on how many you can buy? 200 should be enough eh?

Turns out that the spider in the picture above (which i swear was in my room last night) is a deadly Australian funnel-web and they don't actually live in Utah or on this continent... Whatever, we have Hobo spiders, Wolf spiders and Black Widow spiders and they are...well not deadly. But STILL! FREAKY!!

The end has come...

Yesterday was momentous.

10 years ago I worked as the cook at a Boy Scout camp up in the Tetons called Camp Loll.

(this pic is from camp, don't you love being able to scan old images??)

It was amazing and i loved it and wish I could live there permanently...but that's for a much longer post.

This post is about a roll of tin foil.

Wait don't leave!!!

Ok so we ordered these huge rolls of plastic wrap and tin foil that would last all summer...and they did. And more.

When summer was over i took home the leftover box of tin foil.

That box of tin foil ran out last night. After 10 years.

I was a bit sad. I was starting to think that it was a magic box of tin foil that would always be with me.

But alas. It was not to be.

The end.

SO Excited!!!!

To be heading to Oregon tomorrow!

I get to go see these two sweet babies.

One of which i already know and love.

And the other who is brand new!

I can't wait to smell his head.

Don't knock it till you've tried it. It's like a drug.

I'm also going to head to the coast to see this!

I love the ocean. I love my mountains and sagebrush so much and love Utah, but i get these longings for the sea. Sigh.

It feeds my soul ;-)

Was that cheesy enough for you?

Don't you fret, I'll take a lot of photos. I know that's what you were just thinking about. Right?
