Special Find!

I found this cute little...thing at Pier 1 yesterday and had to have it. I don't know what i'm going to do with it but i love it.

Sadly this is how i end up with most things in my life (men, shoes, clothes, cars)...not really useful but darn cute.

Sweet Tats

I loved this article in The New York Times. I love reading good things in the news...doesn't happen often.

These guys are great. They fight animal abuse and rescue a lot of animals. I like this quote, "Rescue Ink works closely with law enforcement agencies, as members are quick to point out when they are accused of vigilantism. While they may get rough, they never break the law. “If Option A doesn’t work, we go to Option B,” Mike Tattoo said. 'If that fails, there’s always Option C.'"

Get rough boys. And go after the child abusers too.

Ponder This....

Okay so i know that EVERYONE is gaga over Michael Phelps but can i just have a moment? I just love that little swimming machine. I mean...there are no words. He is just so sweet...and BEAUTIFUL. He's body is like art, The David. I break a couple commandments every time i watch him race. The 2nd and 10th to be specific although the 7th has come into question as well. It will be nice when the Olympics are over and i can get to REPENTING!!!!

I give you all leave to bask in the GLORY that is Michael for a moment. My gift to you.

I've seen X-Files and Batman so far this summer....... multiple times :)
They were both great and Dark Night is definitely a new favorite (i L.O.V.E. Christian Bale and Heath was wicked good at The Joker).

A few of my all time favorites are Thoroughly Modern Millie, What's Up Doc, Princess Bride, Goonies, Strange Brew, Back to The Future, Star Wars, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, While You Were Sleeping, and anything with Christian Bale in it.

What are your favorites?

Happy Trails to You....

They played that song as we were leaving the rodeo, i love that song.

So the Heber Rodeo was this weekend, it's actually called the Mountain Valley Stampede but we all just call it the Heber Rodeo. The theme this year was Tough Enough to Wear Pink to support breast cancer. Most of the cowboys wore pink shirts (which i love!) and even the Diamond G guys who ran things and brought the stock wore pink bandannas.

The announcer did the coolest tribute to the flag and had a prayer! it was really great. I love this town. I love that they were not afraid to pray in public and that they made a really big deal over the flag. It was racing around the arena and i started crying...i always do at rodeo's when the flag goes around. Don't know why, but i always do.

This was one of the Diamond G cowboys. I was in love with him. He has the coolest handlebar mustache ever! I couldn't get a good pic of it though.
I also fell in love with these two horses:

Look at this row of pink-shirted cowboys...awesome
And this guy in the HOT pink
Sorry about the focus. I wasn't holding still very well.

This row of hats in front of me
Oh and this couple
They are my favorite, i love them.

This was the other guy i fell in love with
He and his wife and three girls sat right behind me. He was so stinkin' cute with his girls. If guys knew how hot they were with little kids the single ones would be haulin' their siblings and nieces and nephew around everywhere.

This chick did a half time show and it was so cool. She is Amanda Payne from Oklahoma and she is an amazing rider. Very cool, if you have a chance to see her, do it.
Sorry, terrible pic.

Tramp Time

So I had a wonderful weekend. I got to babysit Emmy on Friday and went to the Heber Rodeo Saturday night. Pretty much the best weekend ever!

I picked up Emmers on my way home from work and we ate mac & cheese and bounced on the tramp and went to visit the horses. She has figured out the jumping thing and LOVES the trampoline. I wish i could put an audio file of her saying Trampoline on here. It's priceless. This might be my favorite new pic of her:
Don't worry, she was fine. She just bonked her nose and after i kissed it better she went back to jumping. But i love her face here. Is this bad of me? Maybe a mom wouldn't like the face...but an aunt does. Very funny stuff.

Look at the hair on this kid, amazing:
After i took Emmy home, where I held Jonah for awhile and read Emmy a bedtime story, i headed back to my very lonely, quiet house for an exciting Friday night. And look what was waiting on my porch!!!!
She was so sweet. I'm not sure where she came from but she made my night (she made me think of Nell). I know all the dogs around here and don't recognize her. We sat on the porch for a long time discussing life and listening to the bug zapper (i'll discuss the bug zapper later). It's very cathartic to sit in the dark with a dog leaning against you listening intently to your every word.

If i can't have a husband yet can i at least have a dog!??!?!?!?!? Renting...blah.
